CONSERVAS: Better than Cheese Boards!? How to Serve & Eat Canned Fish
I still can't believe the level of quality and dedication that goes into each of your videos. This is on par with some of the best high-production documentaries I've seen, if not better. I watch all the seasons in order as they came out and each one is better than the last. You even managed to bring me closer to Bordeaux, towards which I had some kind of repulsion, which I saw when watching the episode that it is normal and a common phenomenon in general. Because of all the above you have a new VIP member, thank you for the excellent content and just keep doing what you are doing. And yes, an episode about Eastern Europe and the Balkans would be great, I think that very good wines are made in Serbia, Macedonia and Croatia
Very informative, thank you.
I'm learning about your cocktail from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 , can you send me all theories from it I can learn more than more
The quality of this show is beyond amazing! So well done. This show needs to get picked up. Keep killing it !!
Thank you!
Now I'm on the hunt for that Ojai Red syrah! Separately, I am heading to the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France in July and am hoping to find some good wines while I'm there. Your video on that region has given me some good ideas, including that amazing spot by the sea!
It's pretty easy to find online, hope you can try it!
WSET answer is very helpful....just started Level 2 this past week.
My friend and french teacher prefers this wine brend
Portugal is an interesting choice. I would have said Tuscany. It has wine, food, culture, architecture, art, landscape, stable weather and is mostly close to the sea.
Hope to do an episode there next year and see for myself!
When it comes to the wine being more expensive in the winery, that is definitely true for Italy, but not for Germany. I have bought Italian wines way cheaper over the net with delivery to my home in Germany than if I had bought from the winery. German retailers actually proudly say on their website: “Same price as at winery”.
Oh, good tips!
Glad you enjoyed Portugal, really liked that episode (you can always come back, we have many more wines for you to try ahah)
Lebanon is not the world oldest wine region. Lebanon and that whole region is the oldest table grape growing regions that we know and amount of indigenous vitis vinifera varieties is a good indication of this. vitis grape domestication and wine making trajectory went something like this. Caucasus -> Greeks -> Romans(generic name for italian tribes of that time)/Egyptians/Phoenicians -> rest of the europe… so perhaps, Lebanon has older wine culture than Spain but nowhere near oldest out there.
As you say, oldest wine making region we know of today is south of Kaukasus in Georgia.
@@AnarchoKapital yes but did not want to specify because 8000 years ago, there were no countries. but yes, currently Georgia is probably the only country that can claim an uninterrupted wine culture the longest with over 550 vitis vinifera verities, unique wine technology and many things.
I believe I said “one of the oldest”, which is what I meant to say, but apologizes if I misspoke
I can't wait for the Lebanon episode
It's going to be fun!
If you’re having trouble getting anything on the nose of a wine, try pulling it’s finger.
Respond to Peter requesting “How to spot a Corked (Trichloroanisole mold aka: TCA)?” Good explanation you offered but how to avoid the chance, Buy a screw cap wine closure.
Yeah, but then you can't drink so many wines! lol
Good video. Thanks for posting!
I've bought 5 bottles of Chetau Deyrem Valentin once. 4 were good and 1 was corked....all from the same lot...just had the bad luck of one being corked.
Chateau Musar is lovely!
They're part of the episode!
Watched this with a glass of California Cabernet 😅. Not my go to, but it’s what I had opened and well, nobody wants that to go bad so had to do what I had to do.
Haha😂
Anything from Frescobaldi! My favorite is Castelgiocondo.
Great wines!
Why can I smell and taste exact fruits in white wine but when I smell/taste red wine which is my favorite I really say it smells and tastes like wine but I taste nothing except it’s dryness
If you’re having trouble getting anything on the nose of a wine, try pulling it’s finger.
Start with broad differences. Red fruit Pinot Noir vs Black fruit Cabernet. Then, get wines that are more similar as your progress. Make sure to taste side by side.
As a sommelier I say that besides the balance, complexity and the length, I also look the drinkability level in the wine which you almost never hear even sommeliers talk about. But it is very important to get the wine which is mature and on the high level to drink when the bottle is opened. Many wines out there are below and some older wines are even already over the right time and you will loose not only your money but also the experience you were looking for. So, next time ask the sommelier some more questions:)
This is spot on for sure! This is one of the hardest things with restaurant wine lists. Usually all super young wines!
Pio Cerase Borolo is worth the price
Sorry, Los Angeles was the birthplace of the commercial wine industry in California, and in the New World.
That was fun! And it went well with our sip of choice tonight-Domaine Eden Cab (Santa Cruz Bordeaux, not Napa😂) My question is the unanswered one- what is in Vince’s glass?
Haha just a glass of CA Sauv Blanc! Margerum
This is amazing. Excellent video...🍷
The people are not welcoming. The language is extremely difficult and the food is in fact terrible. The wine is spectacular.
Oh man, I spent 3 weeks in Chile in 2023. Wish you would have visited prior. I found some great places in Santiago and Casablanca, but these places look epic! Especially the food in the Barrio Italia.
You'll have to go back!
Did better than I of done. Wanted to be a sommelier but realized I just can't detect nothing unless I got a starting point
❤
29:00 "Acciughe al verde". Dear Vince have you ever tried to become a taster (sommelier) of extra virgin olive oil?
Haven't tried, but I should do a vid on it!
I've never had a chilian Argentinian wine that I like. Maybe I'm not buying the right ones.
Love your videos!!!!❤❤❤
So holistic!! Going to ask my local wine shop about Rhône wines next. Thanks for this! 🍷🍷🐝
Do you know if they offer tasting at OTT for the public?
Yes, they do! At all 3 estates!
I have seen this episode at least 4 times now. Having spend a week in Alba and also touring Pio Cesare Winery, it always pulls at my heart strings. Can't wait to return!😍
Thanks so much! I hope to visit again too!
I can’t wait to visit some of the places you’ve featured. This is great content!
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome 👏🏻
Absolutely Epic! What a great video! Special thanks to Vince and the Team!
Yes!!! Wine folly is so accessible!!! A great starter!!!

I just recently tried red and white with boiled crawfish. The red was okay, but the white was delicious.
Thank you for the beautiful portrait you have done of my country and its wines. Saludos desde Chile.
Thanks for watching!
